What does a postpartum doula do?
A postpartum doula provides non-clinical support after your baby arrives, including recovery-focused care, newborn guidance, feeding support, rest planning, light household help, and parent education.
How much does a postpartum doula cost?
Daytime care: $50–$80/hour.
Overnight care: $60–$95/hour.
Live-in care: $400–$850/day.
Do you provide overnight newborn care?
Yes. Overnight support can include feeding-plan assistance, soothing, settling routines, diapering, newborn observation, and practical help so parents can rest.
Do you offer live-in postpartum care?
Yes. Live-in care provides extended continuity across the household’s daily rhythm. Space, schedule, and responsibilities are confirmed in advance.
Do you serve families outside New York?
Yes. In-home care is available in key California, New York, and Washington communities. Virtual guidance is available nationwide. Other areas may be considered based on availability.
Do you accept Carrot Card?
Eligible Carrot benefits may be used when approved by the plan. Coverage and reimbursement eligibility vary, so confirm directly with your plan administrator.
Can I use FSA or HSA funds?
Eligibility varies by plan and service. We can provide itemized invoices and supporting documentation for eligible families.
Do you provide breastfeeding support?
Yes. We provide practical, non-clinical feeding support and may coordinate an IBCLC consultation option when available.
When should I book a postpartum doula?
Many families begin planning during pregnancy so there is time to discuss goals, schedules, location, and caregiver availability. Inquiries after the baby arrives are also welcome.
How do I choose the right doula?
Consider location, schedule, language, relevant experience, communication style, service scope, and whether the caregiver understands your household priorities.
